Hello there, Happy New Year! I thought I’d start the New Year with a few myth busters, so we can set our goals straight before we start:
Myth: Doing loads of crunches/sit ups will get you a six pack:
The fact is, the only way to get a flat stomach is to strip away the fat from around the mid-section. This is mainly accomplished through a healthy nutritional regime (thank you Good Habits) – cutting out sugars, processed foods and looking at portion control. Unless you reduce the fat around your middle you could have strong abdominals but will still not see a six pack.
An exercise routine that includes cardiovascular/aerobic exercise, strength training and core muscle* strengthening will also help to reduce body fat. Strengthening your core will improve your posture, which will, in turn, reduce the appearance of a rounded belly. Exercises like …Read more →
