Christmas Cranberry Relish

Dark muscovado sugar, allspice and orange rind give this home-made cranberry relish its festive flavour - aided and abetted by a splash of port. Selections per serving on the Good Habits Plan 65 Optional Calories



  1. Put the orange zest and juice in a saucepan with the allspice, port and cranberries. Heat gently and simmer for 10 minutes until the cranberries are soft.
  2. Add the sugar and let is dissolve over a gentle heat, stirring occasionally. Bring to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Put in small sterilised jars, seal and label. When completely cool, store the jars in the refrigerator where they will keep for up to 3 weeks.
